3:21pm Calls received reporting a female walking on Hwy 2, near the airport, and was not dressed for the weather; Deputy responded; female given a ride to the Ft Belknap Reservation line and transferred to a Ft Belknap Officer to take her back to her residence.
3:40pm 911 received reporting a neighbor’s dogs attacking the caller’s dog in their Malta neighborhood; ACO handled.
4:00pm Deputy performed security checks in the Dodson and Hwy 2 west areas.
8:25pm Numerous calls received reporting Hwy 191 south, between the two Zortman turnoffs, was horrible; MT Dept of Transportation employee advised and sent a plow out.
8:51pm Male reported a semi-truck and trailer stuck on Hwy 191 S, south of the Bear Gulch turnoff; Deputy responded; MHP Dispatch advised of the situation; semi found to be blocking Hwy 191 S; 2nd Deputy responded to assist with traffic control; MT Dept of Transportation also responded; Hwy 191 south southbound lane shut down momentarily while the semi got out; traffic later resumed at a slower speed.
10:13pm Female reported power outages in the Wagner areas; information passed onto NorthWestern Energy.
10:27pm Deputy reported an unoccupied vehicle with damage along the Hwy in the middle of the road hazard area.
10:36pm Deputy assisted with getting a vehicle and a boat unstuck on Hwy 191 south in the middle of the stuck semi location.
April 3, 2026
7:25am 911 received requesting a tow truck for a vehicle that was needing assistance on Hwy 2, east of Malta; caller given local towing company phone number.
8:27am Havre PD received a 911 requesting medical assistance at the Loring Colony; Deputy and local EMT Crew responded; patient transported to the PC Hospital.
11:00am Deputy incarcerated one adult male, Coey Walker, into PCSO Jail to serve time on sentencing.
1:42pm Female requested law enforcement assistance with a possibly stolen vehicle from a Dodson business; female advised the male also had her son with him; Deputy responded; male later found to have permission to have the vehicle and the child; vehicle not located in the Dodson area.
3:07pm Malta business requested law enforcement assistance with abandoned vehicles in their parking lot; Deputy handled.
3:16pm PC Hospital requested an ambulance for a flight crew pick up from the airport; local EMT Crew handled.
3:34pm Female reported a reckless driver on Hwy 2, eastbound toward Malta; Deputy responded; vehicle located, stopped and no impairments found.
9:12pm Male reported a group of juveniles walking down the middle of Central Ave while vehicles were driving by; Deputies responded; juveniles later located, advised to stay out of the middle of the road and sent home for the night.
11:37pm Anonymous reported a possible house party with juveniles at a neighbor’s residence in Malta; Deputies responded; juveniles located, were with an adult, and were not drinking.
April 4, 2026
12:49am Anonymous reported possible underage drinking at a Malta tavern; Deputy responded; suspected female located, had not been drinking and was on the way home.
3:03am Deputy performed a welfare check turned traffic stop with a vehicle full of unlicensed juveniles out for a joyride in a Malta residential area; parents of the juveniles notified and transported their children to their residences.
9:50am Deputy incarcerated one adult male, Taylin Johannesen, into PCSO Jail on Contempt of Court and Driving While Revoked charges; case file started.
10:00am Deputy released one adult male, Coey Walker, from PCSO Jail on time served.
10:30am Female reported her neighbor’s dogs were out running loose in a Malta residential area; ACO handled.
10:32am PC Hospital requested an ambulance for a flight crew pick up from the airport; local EMT Crew handled.
11:52am Deputy released one adult male, Taylin Johannesen, from PCSO Jail on bond.
12:56pm Female reported an individual driving without a license from Cedarview; Deputy responded; vehicle located was parked and no one around.
2:29pm Deputy performed a welfare check on a vehicle alongside of Hwy 191 south; all found to be okay, just stopped to tighten straps.
5:00pm 911 received reporting an erratic semi-truck and trailer on Hwy 2, eastbound toward Malta; Deputy responded; vehicle located and was parked.
5:45pm Deputy transported one adult male, Eric Maxie, to PCSO to be incarcerated in PCSO Jail on Driving While Suspended charges; male later released on bond.
6:50pm Deputy performed security checks in the Saco and Hwy 2 east areas.
7:05pm Deputy performed security checks in the Strater area, east of Malta.
9:53pm Deputy performed security checks in the Short Oil Road area.
10:46pm Deputy performed security checks in the Zortman, DY Junction and Hwy 191 south areas.

1:42pm Female reported a possible theft of a mail box from a Fanning Hill residence, north of Malta; Sheriff handled.
2:27pm Sheriff reported a MT FWP block management box had been chopped up on Fanning Hill; case file started.

8:45am 911 received requesting assistance for a male who fell at a Malta residence; local EMT Crew responded; patient transported to the PC Hospital.
11:30am Sheriff performed security checks in the Saco and Hwy 2 east areas.
11:32am Female reported a DMV ticket scam.
If you receive a phone call, email, text message, or social media contact asking for personal information, bank account information, needing to send money or gift cards to relatives, calls reporting fraudulent activity on an account or card or reporting accidents. Along with individuals receiving checks for large amounts of money know this: These are scams.
If it seems suspicious DO NOT GIVE any information to the caller. Ask for a call back phone number and call them back to see if it is who they are claiming to be or simply HANG UP.
If you don’t recognize the phone number on the caller ID, don’t answer it. If it is a person who truly needed to contact you, they will leave a message. If you don’t know the sender of the check, do not cash it.
The IRS and the Federal Justice System do not contact people via telephone.
Local Court systems do not contact via text message or private messenger.
Always remember the key things regarding scams:
1. If you didn't enter, you didn't win
2. If you have to pay to receive your prize, you didn’t win.
3. If you have a lawsuit or other legal issues pending you will get notification via certified mail or served to you by an official, whether it is a law enforcement officer or a civil process server

You can also call the National Do Not Call Registry phone number, 1-888-382-1222, to have your phone number removed from solicitors. Call this number from EACH phone number you want removed, cell or landline.
For emails, there is an option at the top of your email screen to report emails and block the sender’s email. This will help with receiving less of these types of emails.

7:42pm Deputy performed security checks in the Nelson Reservoir, Sleeping Buffalo and Hwy 2 east areas.
10:57pm Female reported her neighbors were being loud at a Malta residence; Deputies responded; individuals located and advised to tone it down for the night.
11:30pm Male requested law enforcement at his Malta residence for threats received from a family member; Deputies responded; second male taken to another residence for the night.
April 7, 2026
12:45am Deputy performed security checks in the Short Oil Road area.
5:21am Male reported a vehicle pulling a trailer throwing sparks along Hwy 2, west of Malta; Deputy responded; vehicle located and was not throwing sparks anymore.
9:28am 911 received reporting the caller felt threatened and harassed by a neighbor, who also had a firearm on his person, in a Zortman neighborhood; Undersheriff responded; situation taken care of without further incident.
9:57am Female reported a semi-truck hauling hay on Hwy 191 south, lost a bale, and the load appeared to be unstable; Undersheriff responded; semi-truck located parked at the DY Junction; driver advised a bracket broke and he was waiting for help to arrive.
10:25am Local Fire Dept reported to Malta High School for career day.
12:03pm Undersheriff performed security checks in the Zortman, DY Junction and Hwy 191 south areas.
6:03pm PC Hospital requested an ambulance for a flight crew pick up from the airport; local EMT Crew handled.
6:57pm Female requested law enforcement assistance with a situation involving her dog and three other people at a Dodson residence; Deputy handled.
7:12pm Female filed a written complaint about a possible Protection Order Violation; Deputy handled.
April 8, 2026
12:53am 911 received requesting a lift assist at River’s Bend Assisted Living; local EMT Crew responded; EMT walked the patient down to the PC Hospital.
11:31am Male filed a written complaint about damage done to property at a Malta business; Deputy handled.
1:29pm Female reported a possible hit and run to a garage door at a Malta residence; Sheriff responded; found to have been caused by a family member.
4:33pm Deputy performed security checks in the Malta area.

1:28am Female reported “little kids” playing outside in the Cedarview parking lot; Deputy responded; kids were not outside.

12:59pm 911 received reporting a vehicle with ramps that were coming down off of the trailer on Hwy 2 in Malta; Deputy responded; vehicle not located.

1:17pm Female requested law enforcement assistance with a situation involving a landlord; Undersheriff responded; caller advised this is a civil situation.
