May 21, 2026

4:02pm          Malta resident reported finding suspicious activity at the fairgrounds; Deputy responded and security bulletin created. 

5:30pm          Local company worker reported having a firearm pointed at them while they were conducting their business in the Landusky area; Deputy responded and case file started. 

7:31pm          Dispatch received 9-1-1 call reporting individual being transported to local hospital with possible heart attack symptoms; ambulance responded and transported patient to PC Hospital. 

8:08pm          Saco resident reported reckless driver west of Dodson on US 2; information passed on to Deputy. 

10:08pm        Male caller reported livestock on the roadway near mile marker 455 on US 2; owner notified. 

11:00pm        Deputy performed security checks in the Malta area. 

11:42pm        Female caller advised train is blocking Frontage Road crossing east of Malta; unable to contact BNSF.

 

May 22, 2026

7:38am          Central Montana dispatch reported receiving a report of a transient in the Bohemian Corner area requesting a ride to Malta to catch the train to Minnesota; advised Deputy is unable to transport individual; Fergus County deputy was unable to locate individual at Bohemian Corner so can cancel the request. 

7:43am          PC Hospital request medical flight crew pickup at the airport. 

10:47am        Malta business testing fire alarm system. 

12:37am        US Border Patrol dropped off an inmate for short-term hold. 

5:53pm          Malta resident reported continual issues with neighbor’s dog getting loose; information passed on to animal control officer. 

6:00pm          Deputy incarcerated one adult male, Taylin Johannesen, to serve time on sentencing. 

6:29pm          Saco resident reported issues with neighbor; Deputy responded to settled the issue. 

8:52pm          Deputy performed security checks in the Malta area.

9:07pm          Sheriff reported to Undersheriff that Malta resident speeding up and down the street on a dirt bike and known to have suspended driver’s license; Deputy responded and found vehicle parked; the driver was told if this behavior continues will be cited and arrested for driving while suspended. 

11:55pm        Traffic stop resulted in driver, Benajiah Campbell, being arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

 

May 23, 2026

8:33am          Malta resident reported parent involved in accident on ranch and being transported by personal vehicle to PC Hospital from the Dodson area – declined ambulance response; Deputy responded and escorted vehicle to hospital. 

10:00am        Ambulance out at Malta Event Center for event. 

10:21am        Deputy performed security checks in the Cole Ponds area. 

10:28am        PC Hospital requested medical flight crew pickup at the airport. 

10:30am        Deputy performed security checks in the Sleeping Buffalo area. 

10:59am        9-1-1 call from male caller reported transporting friend with rattle snake bite toward Malta from the Saco area, unfamiliar with where nearest hospital; advised of location of PC Hospital; coordination with FMDH in Glasgow and Fort Belknap hospital to obtain antivenom; Fort Belknap officer collected antivenom from Fort Belknap hospital and met PC Deputy near Dodson; antivenom transported and delivered to PC Hospital. 

1:44pm          Valley County SO reported fuel drive-off in Hinsdale, driver headed West; Deputy responded but unable to locate suspect vehicle. 

2:34pm          9-1-1 call received from a scared juvenile being left home alone; Deputy responded; parent arrived home shortly thereafter and was talked to about this type of unacceptable behavior; child protective services notified of this incident.

4:57pm          Male caller reported individuals in a side-by-side shooting toward his property near Dodson; Deputies responded and individuals located. 

5:15pm          South Saco resident reported trespassers on property; later discovered this appears to be a civil issue. 

6:08pm          Malta resident reported a disturbance at a Malta apartment complex; Deputies responded and situation handled. 

6:10pm          Male called 9-1-1 and reported a reckless driver headed east on US 2 near mile marker 486; Deputies responded and Valley County SO notified; vehicle located in Valley County. 

7:46pm          Deputy performed security checks in the South Malta area. 

8:33pm          Deputy performed security checks on Short Oil Road area. 

8:56pm          9-1-1 received from distraught female reporting that someone is trying to take their things; Deputies responded to location and were told by reporting party that the other female possibly suicidal; the other female denied being suicidal; situation handled. 

10:10pm        Deputy performed security checks in the Malta area.

 

May 24, 2026

2:56am          Deputy performed security checks in the Malta area. 

2:22pm          Sheriff performed security checks in the Nelson Reservoir, Sleeping Buffalo, Saco and Hwy 2 east areas. 

4:22pm          Male reported damage to a camper window; Sheriff handled. 

5:34pm          PC Hospital requested an ambulance for a ground transport to Havre; local EMT Crew handled. 

6:56pm          Deputy performed security checks in the Alkali Creek Fishing Access area and Hwy 363. 

7:42pm          Deputy performed security checks in the Sleeping Buffalo and Hwy 2 east areas. 

8:43pm          Deputy performed security checks in the Ester Lake and Hwy 191 south areas. 

9:17pm          Deputy performed a welfare check on a vehicle parked at the Trafton Park rest area; all found to be okay, driver just stopped to rest and use the facilities. 

10:36pm        Deputy performed security checks on Short Oil Road and Content Road areas.

 

May 25, 2026

12:13am        Deputy performed security checks in the Alkali Creek Fishing Access area and Hwy 363. 

1:01am          Deputy reported a dog running loose in a residential area and would try to contact the owner; call went straight to voicemail.

 8:47am          Sheriff performed security checks in Sleeping Buffalo and

Nelson Reservoir areas. 

12:45pm        Sheriff reported to the Veteran’s Park area for the Memorial Day Parade and ceremony. 

 2:41pm          Sheriff performed security checks in Sleeping Buffalo and

Nelson Reservoir areas. 

4:20pm          Female requested assistance with locating kids camping and paddle fishing at James Kipp; local Fish & Game Warden and CMR Officer responded; kids later made contact with the caller and were okay. 

5:24pm          BNSF Police reported juveniles sitting along the tracks in Dodson; Deputy responded; juveniles not located anywhere along the tracks in Dodson and to the Dodson Dam area. 

5:34pm          Male reported juveniles riding bikes in the street and “darting out into traffic” near Cedarview; Deputy responded; juveniles located and an adult was there watching them. 

5:46pm          Deputy performed security checks in the Dodson, PC Fairgrounds and Hwy 2 west areas. 

5:51pm          Deputy released one adult male, Taylin Johannesen, from PCSO Jail on time served. 

7:01pm          Male requested law enforcement assistance with a female harassing the caller and throwing his property all over his yard; Deputy handled. 

7:35pm          Male reported a semi-truck and trailer slid off of Hwy 2, near the Overpass, and would need assistance getting back onto the Hwy; Deputies responded and assisted with traffic control while the vehicle got back onto Hwy 2. 

10:34pm        PC Hospital requested an ambulance for a flight crew pick up from the airport; local EMT Crew handled.

 

May 26, 2026

12:36am        Deputy reported a fire in a dump trailer on the north side of Malta; Malta FD responded; fire later controlled and extinguished. 

12:17pm        PC Hospital requested an ambulance for a flight crew pick up; local EMT Crew handled. 

2:23pm          Undersheriff released one adult male, Sergio Zembrano, from PCSO Jail and transferred custody back to US Border Patrol Agents. 

3:21pm          Male filed a written complaint about a neighbor’s “feral cats” in the 4th St E area; ACO handled. 

8:04pm          PC Hospital requested an ambulance for a flight crew pick up; local EMT Crew handled. 

9:00pm          NorthWestern Energy reported a downed power line off of Old Hwy 2 and a repairman was enroute. 

10:22pm        911 received requesting an ambulance at a Landusky residence; local EMT Crew responded; patient transported to the PC Hospital.

 

May 27, 2026

3:04am          PC Hospital requested an ambulance for a flight crew pick up; local EMT Crew handled. 

8:31am          Deputy performed security checks in the Malta and Hwy 191 north areas. 

10:22am        Undersheriff and Deputy performed security checks in the Whitewater and Hwy 191 north areas. 

3:48pm          Male reported a train blocking the Stine’s Crossing for an extended amount of time; caller advised he had reported it twice already; information passed onto BNSF Police again. 

5:46pm          Male reported a suspicious vehicle driving down the alley behind his residence in Malta; Deputy responded; no vehicle located matching the description or in the area.

6:16pm          Deputy performed security checks in the Malta area.

7:45pm          Female reported a scam.

 

If you receive a phone call, email, text message, or social media contact asking for personal information, bank account information, needing to send money or gift cards to relatives, calls reporting fraudulent activity on an account or card or reporting accidents. Along with individuals receiving checks for large amounts of money know this: These are scams.  

If it seems suspicious DO NOT GIVE any information to the caller. Ask for a call back phone number and call them back to see if it is who they are claiming to be or simply HANG UP. Block the phone number as well. 

If you don’t recognize the phone number on the caller ID, don’t answer it.  If it is a person who truly needed to contact you, they will leave a message. If you don’t know the sender of the check, do not cash it. 

The IRS and the Federal Justice System do not contact people via telephone. Local Court systems do not contact via text message or private messenger. 

Always remember the key things regarding scams:

1.    If you didn't enter, you didn't win

2.    If you have to pay to receive your prize, you didn’t win.

3.    If you have a lawsuit or other legal issues pending you will get notification via certified mail or served to you by an official, whether it is a law enforcement officer or a civil process server 

If you feel you have been a victim of a scam, please follow the link below to the Office of Consumer Protection.  https://dojmt.gov/consumer/consumer-complaints/ or call the Montana State Legislature Fraud Hotline: 1-800-222-4446. 

You can also call the National Do Not Call Registry phone number, 1-888-382-1222, to have your phone number removed from solicitors.  Call this number from EACH phone number you want removed, cell or landline. 

For emails, there is an option at the top of your email screen to report emails and block the sender’s email.  This will help with receiving less of these types of emails. 

9:01pm          911 received reporting an intoxicated driver leaving the caller’s residence in Malta; Deputy responded; second call received to advise the individual was back at the residence. 

9:46pm          911 received requesting law enforcement assistance with locating a mentally ill male who took a walk down in Malta; Deputy responded; male located and taken back to his residence. 

10:32pm        Female reported suspicious activity and a vehicle driving around her residence in Malta; Deputy responded; vehicle located and was parked. 

10:37pm        Deputy performed security checks in the Dodson and Hwy 2 west areas.

 

May 28, 2026

12:28am        Deputy performed a traffic stop on Hwy 2, east of Malta, which led to one adult female, Heather Hallberg, being transported to PCSO to be incarcerated in PCSO Jail on a Lewis & Clark Co SO warrant; case file started. 

1:16am          Deputy transported two juveniles from the above traffic stop to PCSO to wait for a family member to pick them up. 

7:24am          Local business requested law enforcement assistance with a patron making threats to an employee; Deputies responded; patron trespassed from the business. 

11:00am        Deputy performed security checks in the Malta and Short Oil Road areas. 

11:55am        Anonymous requested law enforcement with a situation involving a juvenile; Undersheriff and Deputy responded; information passed onto Centralized Intake. 

1:54pm          Deputy performed security checks in the Saco and Hwy 2 east areas.
