May 28, 2026

3:11pm          PC Hospital reported a juvenile involved shooting situation; Deputies responded; found to be an accidental ricochet and juvenile was okay. 

4:45pm          Male requested law enforcement assistance with a female wandering around the Sleeping Buffalo area; female possibly has mental issues; Deputy responded; female not located. 

6:05pm          Deputy performed security checks in the Sleeping Buffalo, Nelson Reservoir, Saco and Hwy 2 east areas. 

9:54pm          911 received reporting the caller was being threatened and harassed by an intoxicated male south of Dodson; caller believed the male has been driving around intoxicated and on a bender; Deputy responded; male not located. 

11:16pm        Deputy performed security checks in the Dodson, Hwy 204 south and Hwy 2 west areas.

 

May 29, 2026

5:38am          911 received reporting a hitchhiker, possibly two different locations, on Hwy 191 south and appeared to be in distress; Deputy responded; information passed onto Ft Belknap LE; individual not located by PCSO Deputy. 

Several more calls and 911s received reporting a female, possibly two individuals, walking on Route 66 trying to get back to Timber Ridge; information passed onto Ft Belknap LE. 

6:36am          Deputy performed security checks in the Zortman, Bear Gulch Road, 7 Mile Road and Hwy 191 south areas. 

11:00am        Deputy performed security checks in the Nelson Reservoir, Sleeping Buffalo and Hwy 2 east areas. 

11:58am        Female requested an ambulance for herself as she was extremely sick and in pain at a Malta residence; local EMT Crew responded; patient transported to the PC Hospital. 

Sheriff, Undersheriff and Deputies reported to the Malta Event Center for the Medal of Valor ceremony for Deputy Harris. 

2:07pm          LifeAlert requested an ambulance for an unresponsive medical button alert at a Malta residence; local EMT Crew responded; call later canceled as contact was made with the individual and she was okay. 

5:12pm          Deputies served a local warrant on one adult male, Tanner Thompson, and transported him to PCSO to be incarcerated in PCSO Jail on that charge; case file started. 

6:45pm          Undersheriff advised a vehicle owner of a bumper dragging off of the vehicle, at a local convenience store; driver advised he would get it taken care of.

6:57pm          Deputy performed security checks in the Malta area. 

7:11pm          Central MT Dispatch received a report of smoke south of Zortman; after some searching, fire found to be near Winifred and BLM Fire Crews responded. 

9:05pm          Deputy released one adult male, Tanner Thompson, from PCSO Jail on bond. 

9:55pm          Male requested assistance with locating a female who left her Sleeping Buffalo residence without letting anyone know, which was unusual; female later located, was okay and went to a friend’s residence for longer than expected.

 

May 30, 2026

1:47am          Deputy performed security checks in the Short Oil Road area. 

10:39am        Female reported a stray dog at a Malta residence harassing her dogs; ACO handled. 

11:00am        Female reported two brush fires near the Sleeping Buffalo; caller advised they were both reported and controlled burns. 

12:14pm        Deputy performed security checks in the Dodson and Hwy 2 west areas. 

3:21pm          911 received requesting an ambulance for a female who fell and could not get up at a Malta residence; local EMT Crew responded; patient not transported to the PC Hospital. 

4:54pm          Female reported juveniles on an ATV without helmets in a Malta residential area; Deputy responded; juveniles identified and parents/guardians spoken to about the seriousness of riding without helmets. 

5:11pm          Good Samaritan stopped to assist a disabled vehicle on Hwy 191 south of Malta and needed a tow truck; local towing company handled. 

6:16pm          Female reported stolen FedEx packages from her doorstep; Deputy responded; neighbor had picked them up so they would not be stolen and were out of the rain. 

7:47pm          Deputy performed security checks in the Malta and Short Oil Road areas. 

10:00pm        Deputy performed security checks in the Nelson Reservoir, Sleeping Buffalo, Saco and Hwy 2 east areas. 

10:21pm        PC Hospital requested an ambulance for a flight crew pick up from the airport; local EMT Crew handled. 

10:52pm        911 received reporting a power pole on fire near the Frontage Road by the railroad crossing; Deputy, Malta FD and NorthWestern Energy responded; fire later controlled and extinguished; power pole repaired.

 

May 31, 2026

1:48am          PC Hospital requested an ambulance for a flight crew pick up from the airport; local EMT Crew handled; later changed to a ground transport to Glasgow. 

8:14am          Male reported a power outage east of Malta; NorthWestern Energy advised of the situation. 

9:19am          MHP Dispatch reported a road hazard on Hwy 191 north, near Loring; Sheriff responded; ramps not located. 

10:57am        Female reported a male lying in the grass, west of Dodson, along Hwy 2; information passed onto Ft Belknap LE. 

2:22pm          PC Hospital requested an ambulance for a flight crew pick up from the airport; local EMT Crew handled. 

4:48pm          Male reported trains blocking both railroad crossings in Dodson; information passed onto BNSF Police. 

10:02pm        Female reported juveniles “banging” on the door and her kids are trying to sleep at Cedarview; Deputy responded; juveniles located and were going into another residence.

 

June 1, 2026

12:18am        911 received requesting a male be removed from a Dodson residence; Deputy responded; male taken to another residence for the night. 

12:22am        Deputy removed a tree branch from a residential street in Malta. 

12:49am        Deputy performed security checks in the Dodson and Hwy 2 west areas. 

12:54am        Male reported a truck lost a load pipe on Hwy 2, west of the Blaine/Philips Co; information passed onto Ft Belknap LE. 

1:06am          Deputy reported an abandoned vehicle on Hwy 2, west of Malta; no one was around the area. 

10:39am        PC Hospital requested an ambulance for a flight crew pick up from the airport; local EMT Crew handled. 

4:17pm          Female reported a vehicle speeding through the construction area on CMR, heading northbound on Hwy 191 S; Deputy responded; vehicle not located.

 

June 2, 2026

7:47am          911 received reporting an erratic vehicle on Hwy 2, westbound, from the Hinsdale area; Valley Co SO also received a call about this vehicle; Deputy responded; vehicle not located. 

8:08am          Female requested law enforcement assistance with an overdue fisherman, possibly in the Fourchette area; Undersheriff responded; information passed onto local Fish & Game Wardens and CMR Officer. 

2:03pm          Undersheriff reported an abandoned vehicle on Hwy 2, west of Malta; no one was around the area. 

4:20pm          Deputy received a traffic complaint report about an individual driving without a license in Malta.

5:41pm          911 received requesting an ambulance for a female having trouble breathing at a residence east of Malta; local EMT Crew responded; patient transported to the PC Hospital. 

9:42pm          Deputy performed security checks in the Malta area.

 

June 3, 2026

2:19am          Deputy performed business security checks in the downtown Malta area. 

6:37am          911 received requesting an ambulance for a juvenile with low blood sugar and went down at MHS; local EMT Crew responded; patient refused medical transport. 

8:12am          Local business reported a male “camping” in the gazebo in Veteran’s Park; Deputies responded; male located, advised to move to Trafton to stay; male advised would be moving onto Glasgow to catch the train later in the day. 

8:31am          Female reported suspicious activity in the alley near her residence in Malta; Undersheriff and Deputies responded; vehicle not located. 

11:30am        Sheriff and Undersheriff transported one adult female, Heather Hallberg, from PCSO to Havre to transfer custody to Lewis & Clark Co SO. 

12:28pm        Deputies performed security checks in the Dodson and Hwy 2 west areas. 

1:05pm          Ft Belknap LE requested PCSO assistance with a MT Child Abuse Hotline report they received; Deputy responded; case file started. 

5:09pm          Male reported a possible Post Office mail scam. 

6:29pm          Female requested a welfare check on an individual, with a vehicle parked, alongside of Hwy 2, west of Malta; individual was sitting in a strange position and appeared to be stiff; Deputy and EMT Crew responded; all found to be okay and the ambulance was canceled.

7:43pm          Deputy performed security checks in the Malta area. 

10:26pm        Male reported juveniles causing a nuisance at Cedarview; Deputy responded; all found to be okay in the reported apartment area.

 

June 4, 2026

2:02am          Deputy performed security checks in the Malta area. 

7:14am          Mountain Alarm reported a commercial fire alarm sounding at a local business; Deputies and business owner responded; all found to be okay. 

12:11pm        Male reported a sheep dog stuck off of Hwy 191 south; owner located and would go check it out.
