August 14, 2026
4:09am Deputy performed security checks in the Malta area.
7:05am Deputy performed security checks in the Saco, Nelson Reservoir, Sleeping Buffalo and Hwy 2 east areas.
4:10pm Male reported a strange odor in his Malta neighborhood; Deputies, Malta FD and MDU responded; fire and MDU later canceled as the odor was actually bear spray used on a dog; Malta ACO advised of the situation; case file started.
4:18pm Female reported a stranded motorist off of Hwy 191 in Malta; Deputy responded; vehicle not located.
4:53pm Individuals reported an incident involving an ex-boss that occurred in Malta; Deputies responded; case file started.
5:13pm Deputy transported one adult from the PC Hospital to the Montana State Hospital for mental evaluation.
6:59pm Deputy incarcerated one adult male, Tanner Thompson, into PCSO Jail to serve time on sentencing.

August 15, 2026
2:29am BNSF Police reported a railroad crossing closure, at the Bowdoin/Strater Road, for most of this day due to track repair and construction.
11:06am Deputy performed security checks in the Saco, Nelson Reservoir, Sleeping Buffalo and Hwy 2 east areas.
3:23pm Deputy performed security checks in the Dodson and Hwy 2 west areas.
4:13pm Female filed a verbal complaint about a neighbor’s dog barking all day at a Malta residence; Deputy responded; dog not located outside and all was quiet; information passed onto ACO.
4:56pm Local Ambulance reported to the Trafton Park Arena for the rodeo.
9:16pm Male requested an ambulance for an individual with a head wound at the Trafton Park Arena; local EMT Crew responded; ambulance later canceled as an EMT was already on scene and handled the situation.
August 16, 2026
12:06am Deputy performed security checks in the Malta and Hwy 363 areas.
8:54am Male reported a dead deer in the middle of Hwy 191 north; Sheriff responded and removed the deer.
9:13am Male reported an erratic vehicle on Hwy 2, westbound from the Sleeping Buffalo turnoff; Sheriff responded; vehicle located and driving behavior was okay.
9:24am 911 received requesting an ambulance for a possible overdose in Zortman; caller advised they would start heading to Malta; local EMT Crew responded; vehicle located and patient transported to the PC Hospital by ambulance.
11:03am Female reported a vehicle parked in the middle of a residential intersection and no one was around; Sheriff responded; all found to be okay as streets were being painted for the football season.
2:22pm Alarm monitoring company reported a commercial burglar alarm sounding at a local business; Sheriff responded; all found to be okay and building locked up tight.
3:57pm Deputy performed security checks in the Zortman, Landusky and Hwy 191 south areas.
6:20pm 911 received requesting an ambulance for a female who fell and had severe neck pain at a Malta residence; local EMT Crew responded; patient transported to the PC Hospital.
6:30pm Deputy performed security checks in the Malta area.
6:51pm Deputy released one adult male, Tanner Thompson, from PCSO Jail on time served.
9:16pm Deputy performed security checks in the Sleeping Buffalo and Hwy 2 east areas.
9:54pm 911 received reporting kids “zipping around” a residential neighborhood; caller explained the kids were doing “Rambo” and a Deputy would check it out; Deputy responded; all found to be quiet in the reported neighborhood.
August 17, 2026
2:29am Deputy performed security checks in the Hwy 363 area.
8:14am Deputy performed a traffic stop which led to one adult male, Sydney Goesahead, being transported to PCSO for DUI maneuvers; male later transported to the PC Hospital for a blood draw; case file started; male later issued a citation and released to a family member.
10:28am Female reported a suspicious vehicle parked in front of her apartment building; Sheriff responded; all found to be okay.
11:08am Deputy reported a male walking on Hwy 2, westbound, toward Dodson; male was okay, just trying to get home and did not want a ride.
3:43pm Female reported a phone scam.
If it seems suspicious DO NOT GIVE any information to the caller. Ask for a call back phone number and call them back to see if it is who they are claiming to be or simply HANG UP. Block the phone number as well.
If you don’t recognize the phone number on the caller ID, don’t answer it. If it is a person who truly needed to contact you, they will leave a message. If you don’t know the sender of the check, do not cash it.
The IRS and the Federal Justice System do not contact people via telephone. Local Court systems do not contact via text message or private messenger.
Always remember the key things regarding scams:
1. If you didn't enter, you didn't win
2. If you have to pay to receive your prize, you didn’t win.
3. If you have a lawsuit or other legal issues pending you will get notification via certified mail or served to you by an official, whether it is a law enforcement officer or a civil process server

You can also call the National Do Not Call Registry phone number, 1-888-382-1222, to have your phone number removed from solicitors. Call this number from EACH phone number you want removed, cell or landline.
For emails, there is an option at the top of your email screen to report emails and block the sender’s email. This will help with receiving less of these types of emails.

1:15am Male requested a welfare check on a family member at a Malta residence; Deputy responded; caller later reported the family member was okay and in the hospital.
9:55am Deputy reported a male walking in the Underpass acting suspicious; all found to be okay.
10:06am Deputy performed security checks in the Malta area.
11:20am Male reported BNSF vehicles speeding on gravel roads east of Malta; information passed onto BNSF Police.
11:48am 911 received requesting assistance for an unresponsive male on the Loring Cutacross Road; Deputies and EMT Crew responded; coroner case file started.
2:44pm Deputy performed security checks in the Dodson and Hwy 2 west areas.
3:18pm Undersheriff received a parking complaint and responded; trailer moved for safety reasons.
5:32pm Male filed a verbal complaint about gravel trucks driving too fast; Undersheriff handled.

11:11pm Female reported a vehicle blocking Hwy 363, south of Malta; caller advised of a male walking around the vehicle; Deputy responded; Deputy later requested an ambulance for both occupants for possibly mental health issues; local EMT Crew responded; patients transported to the PC Hospital.
