4:42pm Local convenience store reported a male transient harassing customers and trying to get into people’s vehicles; Deputy responded; male escorted off of the property and advised he had been trespassed from that location.
6:07pm Deputy performed security checks in the Malta area.
6:20pm Male requested a welfare check on another male who wasn’t answering the phone at a Malta residence; Deputy responded; male located and was okay.
7:20pm Deputy performed a traffic stop which led to one adult female, Jenelle Wing, being transported to PCSO to be incarcerated in PCSO Jail on Aggravated DUI, Driving While Suspended, Open Container and Speeding charges; case file started.
8:16pm Local business reported a possible DUI; Deputy responded; vehicle not located.
9:43pm Female reported an arrow had been shot through a business window; Deputy responded; case file started.
9:45pm Deputy removed a dead deer from the Overpass.
10:49pm Male reported a possible runaway juvenile; Deputy responded; male later reported the juvenile had been located and was okay.

1:34am Male reported suspicious activity around the vehicles parked by Art’s Furniture; Deputy responded; no one located in the area.
2:06am Deputy performed security checks in the Malta area.
6:58am Female reported a stray dog behind Carquest; information passed onto ACO.
9:49am Deputy performed security checks in the Nelson Reservoir, Sleeping Buffalo and Hwy 2 east areas.
10:29am Local bank reported damage to their flowers that occurred the night before; Deputy handled.
1:38pm Male reported a camper dragging chains on Hwy 2, east of Malta, heading westbound; Deputy responded; caller later reported the camper had turned off to go to Nelson Reservoir; camper not located.
2:34pm Male reported a bank scam.
If it seems suspicious DO NOT GIVE any information to the caller. Ask for a call back phone number and call them back to see if it is who they are claiming to be or simply HANG UP. Block the phone number as well.
If you don’t recognize the phone number on the caller ID, don’t answer it. If it is a person who truly needed to contact you, they will leave a message. If you don’t know the sender of the check, do not cash it.
The IRS and the Federal Justice System do not contact people via telephone. Local Court systems do not contact via text message or private messenger.
Always remember the key things regarding scams:
1. If you didn't enter, you didn't win
2. If you have to pay to receive your prize, you didn’t win.
3. If you have a lawsuit or other legal issues pending you will get notification via certified mail or served to you by an official, whether it is a law enforcement officer or a civil process server

You can also call the National Do Not Call Registry phone number, 1-888-382-1222, to have your phone number removed from solicitors. Call this number from EACH phone number you want removed, cell or landline.
For emails, there is an option at the top of your email screen to report emails and block the sender’s email. This will help with receiving less of these types of emails.

7:39pm Deputies issued citations for MIP to two juveniles at PC Fair; case file started.
9:01pm Female reported a vehicle swerving on Hwy 2 with multiple juveniles not buckled in, heading eastbound, possibly turned at the Wagner turnoff; Deputies responded; vehicle not located.
9:17pm Deputy reported both Dodson railroad crossings were blocked; information passed onto BNSF Police.
9:34pm Female reported a vehicle hitting rumble strips on both sides of the lane, heading eastbound, on Hwy 2 from Dodson; Undersheriff responded; vehicle not located.
9:49pm Male reported the carbon monoxide detector going off in his Malta residence; Malta FD and MDU responded; gas shut off and air in house cleared out.
11:28pm 911 received reporting juveniles near a convenience store that was closed for the night; Undersheriff responded; juveniles located, advised they were from out of town and stretching their legs; individuals advised to get back to their hotel.
August 1, 2026
5:12am Male reported hitting a deer on Hwy 363 and had left the scene; white form issued.
9:35am PC Ambulance reported to the PC Fairgrounds for fair coverage.
9:35am Deputy performed security checks in the Nelson Reservoir, Sleeping Buffalo and Hwy 2 east areas.
12:44pm Male requested a welfare check on another male at a residence east of Malta; male later reported the male had been located and was okay.
1:31pm Female requested law enforcement assistance with a situation involving a bill from a local motel; Deputy responded; caller advised situation was civil and needed to contact the Justice of Peace.
1:20pm PC EMT reported a personal vehicle transport of an individual who was injured in the Indian Relay Races; information passed onto PC Hospital.
3:37pm Deputies served a Phillips Co and Hill Co SO warrant on one adult male, Alexander Werk; male incarcerated in PCSO Jail on those charges; case file started.
4:54pm Deputy performed security checks in the Malta area.
5:16pm Deputies reported to the PC Fairgrounds for fair coverage.
6:18pm Female reported hitting an elk, on Hwy 191 south, but left the scene; minor damage to the vehicle; caller advised to get a white form.
7:37pm Male brought in a found wallet; owner located and wallet returned.
8:17pm Deputies assisted an MHP Trooper on a traffic stop which led to one adult male, Myron Olson, being transported to PCSO to be incarcerated in PCSO Jail on an MHP warrant.
9:40pm Female given a one-night stay at a local motel through Ministerial Assistance.
10:57pm Deputy released one adult female, Jenelle Wing, from PCSO Jail and transported to Valley Co Detention Center to serve time.
11:03pm Local tavern requested a male be removed from the premises; Deputies responded; male given a ride to his Malta residence.
August 2, 2026
12:11am Deputy performed a welfare check on a male walking on Hwy 2, east of Dodson; all found to be okay, just walking to their vehicle.
12:19am Deputy performed security checks in the Dodson and Hwy 2 west areas.
12:45am Motel patron reported a strange noise coming from the grain elevators; Deputy responded; no noise, smoke, or smell located.
12:56am Deputies performed business security checks in the downtown Malta area.

2:03am Deputy performed security checks in the Saco and Hwy 2 east areas.
8:59am 911 received reporting an erratic semi-truck and trailer on Hwy 2, westbound, from the Dodson area; information passed onto Ft Belknap LE.

8:39am 911 received requesting an ambulance for a male having seizures at a residence in Greenacres; local EMT Crew responded; patient transported to the PC Hospital.
11:53am PC Hospital requested a coroner for a patient who had passed away; Undersheriff responded; coroner case file started.

3:40pm Anonymous reported a possible situation involving a juvenile at a Malta residence; Undersheriff responded; information passed onto Centralized Intake.
