12:57pm Male reported a vehicle blocking and causing a traffic hazard on a residential street; Deputy responded; no problem found.
2:16pm Deputy performed security checks in the Zortman and Hwy 191 south areas.
4:39pm Female reported a traffic hazard involving two vehicles parked on a residential street and Central Ave; Deputy responded; owners located and advised they would move the vehicle out of the yellow zone.
6:14pm Female reported a “difficult driver” on Hwy 191 south, coming into Malta; Deputy responded; vehicle not located.
September 19, 2026
6:27am 911 received reporting a vehicle/deer crash on Route 66; occupants and vehicle were okay; white form issued.
9:09am Local Ambulance reported to the PCMS Dragstrip for the races.
10:08am MHP Trooper requested PCSO assistance on a traffic stop on Hwy 2, in Saco; Deputy responded; situation taken care of without further incident.
2:53pm Female brought in an abandoned bicycle.
2:55pm DPHHS requested PCSO assistance with a situation involving a juvenile; Deputy responded; case file started.
September 20, 2026
8:50am Local Ambulance reported to the PCMS Dragstrip for the races.
9:39am Deputy removed debris from Hwy 2 east of Dodson.
9:44am Deputy performed a welfare check on a male walking on Hwy 2, west of Dodson; all found to be okay and did not want any assistance.
9:50am Deputy performed security checks in the Dodson and Hwy 2 west areas.
12:31pm Male filed a verbal complaint about juveniles on e-scooters in Malta; Sheriff handled.
3:29pm Male reported damage to a screen door at a Saco residence; Deputy handled.

1:44am Deputy performed security checks in the Saco, Sleeping Buffalo and Hwy 2 east areas.
7:26am Several calls and 911s received reporting a one-vehicle rollover on Hwy 2, east of the Wagner turnoff; occupant was not able to get out of the vehicle; Sheriff, Undersheriff, Malta FD and EMT Crew responded; MHP Trooper also responded; patient transported to the PC Hospital; MHP handled the crash.
10:30am Female reported a juvenile on a dirt bike along the canal and residential streets in Malta; Sheriff responded; juvenile not located.
A reminder:
Off road motorcycles are for off road use ONLY. The motorcycle must be registered, licensed, and the driver must possess a valid driver's license with a motorcycle endorsement before it can be driven on the streets. There have been numerous complaints to the Sheriff's Office for "dirt bikes" being driven on city and county roads. Citations will be issued. If riders are under the age of 18, helmets are required.

8:03am Female reported a dead deer on Hwy 191 north of Malta; Undersheriff responded; deer had already been removed.
8:40am Malta business requested 3 individuals “parked” in the business’ parking lot be removed; Undersheriff responded; individuals found to have permission to be there.
8:53am Undersheriff performed a welfare check on a vehicle alongside of Hwy 2, west of Dodson; all found to be okay, driver stopped to use the phone.
9:03am Undersheriff performed security checks in the Dodson and Hwy 2 west areas.
10:54am Malta business reported a verbal altercation involving transients across the street; Undersheriff responded; individuals denied the altercation and were requested to move on from the location.
12:39pm Female reported an abandoned vehicle on Hwy 2, east of Malta, and two individuals walking; Sheriff responded; individuals located, advised their vehicle was dead and they were walking to the train station.
1:34pm Female reported a phone scam.
If it seems suspicious DO NOT GIVE any information to the caller. Ask for a call back phone number and call them back to see if it is who they are claiming to be or simply HANG UP. Block the phone number as well.
If you don’t recognize the phone number on the caller ID, don’t answer it. If it is a person who truly needed to contact you, they will leave a message. If you don’t know the sender of the check, do not cash it.
The IRS and the Federal Justice System do not contact people via telephone. Local Court systems do not contact via text message or private messenger.
Always remember the key things regarding scams:
1. If you didn't enter, you didn't win
2. If you have to pay to receive your prize, you didn’t win.
3. If you have a lawsuit or other legal issues pending you will get notification via certified mail or served to you by an official, whether it is a law enforcement officer or a civil process server

You can also call the National Do Not Call Registry phone number, 1-888-382-1222, to have your phone number removed from solicitors. Call this number from EACH phone number you want removed, cell or landline.
For emails, there is an option at the top of your email screen to report emails and block the sender’s email. This will help with receiving less of these types of emails.

10:54am Undersheriff received a report of debris on Hwy 2, east of Malta and responded; no debris located.
12:51pm Several calls received reporting an erratic vehicle on Hwy 2, westbound, into Malta; Deputy and local MHP Trooper responded; vehicle located and stopped; one citation issued.
1:57pm City of Malta employee requested assistance with individuals in Trafton Park; Deputy and local MHP Trooper responded; individuals located, were okay and had planned to leave the next day.
2:16pm Female reported damage to the back window of her vehicle; Deputy responded; case file started.
3:00pm Deputy transported one adult male, Larry Smith, to PCSO to be incarcerated in PCSO Jail on a Blaine Co SO warrant; case file started.
4:48pm Malta Elementary employee requested a welfare check on juveniles at a local residence; Deputy responded; juveniles located and were okay.
5:00pm Adult Federal Probation Officers requested PCSO assistance with getting property back from a client; Deputies responded and property was retrieved.
6:15pm Female reported her neighbor’s dog barking all the time; Deputy responded; owner located and advised.
6:36pm Deputy performed security checks in the Dodson and Hwy 2 west areas.
8:04pm 911 received reporting a one vehicle crash on Hwy 2, across from the Sleeping Buffalo turnoff; Deputies, EMT Crew and Fire Dept responded; MHP Trooper also responded; case file started.
9:19pm Deputy transported one adult male, Robin Unruh, to PCSO to be incarcerated in PCSO Jail on DUI-1st charges.
10:55pm Deputy requested an ambulance for the inmate who could not get up; local EMT Crew responded; patient transported to the PC Hospital; inmate cited and released from PCSO custody.
